Alert POS Launches Industry's First Active Intelligence Security Feature

Company also formalizes relationship with Moneris Solutions, one of North America’s largest processors of credit and debit card payments.

JENSEN BEACH, FLORIDA — April 5, 2016 – Alert™ POS, a leader in Windows™ tablet/terminal point-of-sale (POS) solutions for restaurants and retailers, announced today its new Active Intelligence security feature, a first in the POS industry. With today’s security threats on the rise, Alert POS has taken the lead to directly link its hyper-cloud POS solution to law enforcement and the 911 emergency phone system, sharing critical, verifiable information in emergency situations.

Point of Sale has never been used for active intelligence in the security field, so Alert POS’ solution offers a vital new way for law enforcement to quickly receive information in crisis situations, such as robberies, medical emergencies, mass shootings and terror attacks. 

Alert POS’ Active Intelligence feature works in any environment where POS is used, sending law enforcement up-to-the-minute information, including location, number of employees and customers in the store, along with the point of alarm.  In addition, all other Alert POS terminals in the store are activated into emergency mode and will immediately begin updating real-time information to the “event link.”

“The POS terminal is the most utilized piece of technology in businesses today, tracking and updating key data such as employee management, number of customers in a store and floor layouts,” said Brad Jarrett, CEO of Alert POS.  “It made perfect sense for us to create a direct link from the terminal to law enforcement to quickly deliver the critical information they need in an emergency.”

The company plans to add drone technology to its patent-pending security feature, which will deploy a local drone to the emergency site to broadcast live video of any perpetrators until they are apprehended by law enforcement.

Alert POS has also established a relationship with Moneris Solutions Corporation, one of North America’s largest processors of credit and debit card payments.

Through this relationship, Alert POS will exclusively support Moneris’ payment processing platform as an integrated solution within the Alert POS payment system, enabling secure, reliable and seamless credit and debit card processing for Alert POS customers.
