Attracting Shoppers, Not Thieves: Imaginarium Launches Retail Anti-Theft Program

Source: Checkpoint Systems, Inc.

Imaginarium, a leading retailer of products and merchandise for early childhood education and children’s toys, likes to bill itself as having “the prettiest toy shops in the world.” But Imaginarium is savvy enough to recognize that aesthetically pleasing store environments do more than attract shoppers and their children: they also can attract potential thieves.

To combat the threat of shrink, the company has expanded its array of loss prevention solution in a number of stores in its home Spain market, as well as in the growing market in Turkey. Imaginarium is working with Checkpoint Systems and its Alpha High-Theft division in Spain, and is collaborating with Checkpoint’s partner Detay A.Ş. for the Turkish deployment.

The solution in Spain, which includes a combination of RF-EAS antennas, labels and a variety of high-theft products, represents a comprehensive approach to shrink management for Imaginarium. The company has been doing business with Checkpoint since 2010, but decided to expand the solutions range with a new rollout of solution in 40 Spanish stores. That new implementation is based upon Checkpoint’s EVOLVE P20 RF-EAS antenna and Plus, as well as its RF-based labels and hard tags.
