Cummins Allison Selected As New Self-Service Coin Machines Supplier To SUPERVALU

Cummins Allison, the leading innovator and provider of coin, currency and check processing solutions, as well as ATMs, recently announced SUPERVALU INC., a U.S. grocery industry leader, has added Cummins Allison’s Money Machine 2 self-service coin counters across multiple store locations in Maryland, Missouri, Illinois and Virginia.

SUPERVALU selected Cummins Allison and the new Money Machine 2 coin counters because of the flexibility of their solution and the highly responsive nature of their sales and support organization. Additionally, Cummins Allison provided SUPERVALU with opportunities to increase their coin redemption revenue without increasing user fees.

Cummins Allison provides truly hands-free operation by managing the coin pickup and processing, eliminating the time-consuming task of coin handling so store associates can focus on more valuable, service-related activities.

“With these new machines we are able to provide an easier, more convenient coin counting service to our customers," said Mike Witt, vice president of center store merchandising for SUPERVALU. “We’re pleased to be working with Cummins Allison and look forward to seeing the reaction of customers using these new counters.”

“The success of self-service coin redemption is not only dependent upon the accuracy, speed and quality of the equipment but also on the flexibility of the provider,” said Jim Weaks, vice president, Cummins Allison. “Our self-service coin programs offer a new alternative for grocers who wish to continue to offer coin-counting services in their stores, but are looking for different choices in a coin redemption program.”

Cummins Allison offers four different choices for grocers that want to add or replace their self-service coin machines.  For more information visit
